Quote or book online? Which detailing services need a quote
A simple rule for deciding which detailing services customers should book online and which need a quote, plus what to ask on a detailing quote request.
Sign in QUOTE REQUESTS FOR DETAILERS
Ceramic coating, paint correction and heavily soiled interiors rarely fit a fixed price. Reserve My Detail lets customers request a quote with the details you need, then gives your team an inbox to review, price and schedule the work in GoHighLevel.
For US detailing businesses. Live use requires GoHighLevel. Demos use fictional data and create no real appointments.
HOW IT FITS TOGETHER
They choose the service, vehicle and any extras, describe the vehicle, add notes and an optional preferred date, and tell you whether the work happens at your shop or their location.
Quote requests arrive in the Admin Hub. Move each one through New, In review, Quoted and Closed, and record the quoted amount and staff notes.
When the customer accepts, create the appointment from the quote. It is booked in the connected GHL calendar with the agreed amount, and a job can span several days.
01 / IN PRACTICE
Offer bookable packages and quote-required services side by side. Each service is clearly labelled Book online or Quote required, so customers know which next step applies.
02 / IN PRACTICE
Filter and search requests, open the service, vehicle and contact details, and record every status change. Saving a quote does not message the customer automatically, so your team stays in control of the conversation.
03 / IN PRACTICE
An agency can turn on quote notifications for a business. Each request finds or creates the GHL contact and adds an intake opportunity to a dedicated pipeline, so your GHL workflows can alert staff.
BEFORE YOU GET STARTED
What the software supports and what you need for live use.
No. A quote request does not reserve calendar time or collect payment. A preferred date is only a request; staff create the appointment after the job is agreed.
No. Recording a quote in the Admin Hub does not send the customer a message. Staff contact the customer directly, or through GoHighLevel workflows if the business sets them up.
Not currently. Customers describe the vehicle and the work in the request, and can add notes for staff. Vehicle types can also ask for a measurement, such as boat length.
Yes. When you create an appointment from a quote, you set the agreed amount and the exact start and end times, and a job can span multiple dates.
